Advantages and Future Development of Ink based Defoamers

In the process of ink production and printing, it is easy to produce a lot of foam. However, the production of foam will affect the leveling of ink, printing uniformity and the quality of the final product. As a functional additive, ink defoamer can effectively eliminate and inhibit foam and ensure the stability of printing process.

The advantages of ink based defoamer mainly lie in its efficient defoaming and antifoaming performance. Adding an appropriate amount of ink based defoamer can quickly eliminate the foam generated in the process of ink production and use (such as when stirring and the printing machine is running at a high speed), avoid pinhole, fisheye and other printing defects, reduce the uneven printing problems caused by foam, and thus improve the pattern clarity and color reduction. Secondly, ink based defoamers are suitable for various ink systems (such as water-based, solvent based, UV ink) and do not affect the leveling, glossiness, and adhesion of the ink.   

With the increasingly strict laws and regulations on green environmental protection, ink based defoamers are also paying more attention to environmental protection and safety. Modern new ink defoamers tend to use low VOC, silicon free or biodegradable formulas to reduce environmental pollution. In the future, we will continue to develop green materials based on natural oils and polyether modified siloxanes to replace traditional silicon or mineral oil components. Meanwhile, utilizing nanotechnology and intelligent science to achieve multifunctional integration.

The future development of ink based defoamers will revolve around the three directions of "efficiency, environmental protection, and precision", meeting the high-quality and sustainable development needs of the printing industry through material innovation and technological upgrades.
