　　Tributyl phosphate, TBP has ester property, it can be hydrolyzed in basic condition. It can react with HCL to produce chlorobutane or react with benzene to produce sec-butylbenzene and 1, 4-disec-butylbenzene. Moreover, it can produce dibutylaniline. It is widely used as extracting agent for rare metals, phosphoric acid, defoaming agents for paints and chemical production processes, oil casing well cementation, concrete additives, solvents for oily inks and paints, chemical agents, lubricating oil pressure antiwear agent, aircraft hydraulic oil flame retardants, rare earth element extraction and purification solvent, coating and surface decorative, surface air entrainment additive, nuclear fuel processing solvent, the carrier of fluorescent dyes, wet phosphoric acid purification, plasticizer for cellulose nitrate, chlorinated rubber and PVC, organic synthetic intermediate and heat exchange medium etc. The molecular formula is C12H27O4P, it is colorless or yellowish transparent liquid, and soluable to many kind of organic solvents.
