Defoamers play a role mainly through two mechanisms: first, the surface tension decreases, making the foam film wall thinner and easier to break; The second is foam inhibition, that is, the growth of foam is inhibited by intermolecular interaction at the initial stage of foam formation. Different types of defoamers may focus on the combined

effect of one or two mechanisms based on their specific composition.

When selecting materials, consideration should be given to the compatibility of defoamers (non reactive with building materials), stability (long-term storage without failure), dispersibility (easy to mix uniformly), and environmental friendliness (non-toxic, harmless, biodegradable). At the same time, it should comply with relevant national and

industry standards, such as water resistance, temperature resistance, and other indicators.

The correct use of defoamers is the key to improving their effectiveness. Usually, it needs to be added at the beginning of mixing or before foam is produced to ensure full mixing. For special application scenarios, such as high temperature or high humidity environments, it is necessary to adjust the amount and time of addition, and conduct

preliminary experiments if necessary to optimize the ratio.
